The halley k harrisburg '90 and Michael Rosenfeld Artist in Residence program is the result of a generous gift that allows ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø±¬ÍøÕ¾ College to invite internationally renowned artists to campus to work directly with students and the broader College community to enhance the learning experience. more...

Selected artists are invited to join the ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø±¬ÍøÕ¾ community during a given academic year, and the structure of the residency is flexible. During their year in residence, the participating artist typically makes multiple visits to campus to engage with students and faculty and develop their own creative projects. A public lecture provides an opportunity for the participating artist to share insights about their practice and current work to a broad audience.

The halley k harrisburg ‘90 and Michael Rosenfeld Artist in Residence Program is jointly administered by the ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø±¬ÍøÕ¾ College Museum of Art and the Visual Arts Department at ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø±¬ÍøÕ¾ College. A committee of students, faculty, and staff members nominates participating artists based on suggestions from distinguished members of the visual arts community on campus and beyond.

LJ Roberts is an artist and writer who creates large-scale textile installations, intricate embroideries, artist books, collages and mixed-media sculptures. Their work illuminates oft-erased and unacknowledged queer and trans narratives, people, and places. The artist creates conceptual and geographical maps of queer life of the past, present and future through material deviance and re-imaging craft practices. LJ’s work has been shown in exhibitions at Smithsonian Museum of American Art (Renwick Gallery), The Victoria and Albert Museum, The Brooklyn Museum, Aldrich Contemporary Art Museum, Yerba Buena Center of the Arts, The 8th Floor, Museum of Arts and Design, Vox Populi, Smack Mellon, Archives of American Art at the Smithsonian Institution, The Orange County Museum of Art, Leslie-Lohman Museum, Powerhouse Museum, The Museum of the City of New York, The Oakland Museum of California, The DePaul Art Museum, The ONE National Gay and Lesbian Archives at The University of Southern California, and The ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø±¬ÍøÕ¾ College Museum of Art.
