Wattnow is a tech energy startup based in Tunis that sell both software and hardware solutions for companies to monitor and control their energy expenditure. Wattnow is growing as a startup, with clients all over the world (some here in the US!) and a new branch in Toulouse France.

What did I do?

  • I worked on a backend feature for their dashboard. I wrote a python script that checks the status of the control device to see if they are on the the correct status.

What did I learn?

  • I learned a lot of new skills for software engineering, I learnt many new technologies and libraries that come with python such as Pandas, datetime objects, Boto3, serverless framework etc.
  • I learnt that I do enjoy this kind of work, and I want to do it in the foreseeable future.
  • I learnt that software engineering is a lot of research and figuring stuff on your own and knowing how to learn, which seems like fun for me.

Internship funded by the Perper, Scott and Anne Internship Fund.
