About
Organized by Thomas D. Conlan, Associate Professor of History and Asian Studies, this exhibition explores some of the ways that Japan has imported and transformed motifs and objects from abroad. Objects on display include Chinese pottery used in the tea ceremony, a Buddhist sutra dating from the tenth century, and anachronistic woodblock prints of Westerners dating from the 1860s.
