This exhibition explores the traditions, styles, and techniques that inform the portrayals of individuals in the ancient world. From profiles carved in relief and painted on vases to figures molded in terracotta and portraits sculpted in the round this installation draws from a range of art representing Egyptian, Assyrian, Cypriot, Greek, and Roman cultures.

Fred Albertson, associate professor of art history, The University of Memphis, Tennessee, will discuss various aspects of portraiture in the Ancient world in this lecture.
