Student Awards

The Biochemistry Program at ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø±¬ÍøÕ¾ recognizes students who have displayed excellence in the study of biochemistry.

John L. Howland Book Award in Biochemistry

This award is given each year to a student who has achieved academic and general excellence in the biochemistry program at the end of the junior year.

The award is in honor of John L. Howland, a member of the ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø±¬ÍøÕ¾ faculty from 1963 to 2002 and the Josiah Little Professor of Natural Sciences and professor of biology and biochemistry, who founded the biochemistry program at ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø±¬ÍøÕ¾ in 1971.

Stephen Smith Prize in Biochemistry

This is awarded each year to an outstanding senior majoring in biochemistry, based on academic achievement, engagement and distinction in biochemistry research.
