Training Opportunities
We are accepting training applications for the 2025-2026 academic year!
We offer training placements to graduate students in counseling, social work, and psychology. Placements begin in late August and end by mid-May, and trainees are expected to complete both semesters of the academic year. Graduate student trainees receive a modest stipend each semester.
Trainees are exposed to a range of theoretical orientations and clinical practices through weekly meetings and consultations with permanent staff. Each trainee receives one hour of individual supervision and one hour of group supervision/case conference each week. Additionally, there is a weekly one-hour seminar focusing on skill development, recent research, and emerging topics in college student mental health. We work with trainees to develop a training plan that meets their individual needs and the requirements of their academic program.
Clinical activities include:
- Initial/Intake assessment
- Treatment planning
- Individual counseling
- Group counseling
- Outreach
- Psychoeducational groups
- Consultation and referral
We do not have a required “house theory” of clinical practice. However, trainees favoring or having experience with CBT, ACT, DBT, Interpersonal, and/or Solution-Focused approaches may feel particularly at home.
