Harmony is ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø±¬ÍøÕ¾’s new initiative to connect community partners in the Brunswick area with the ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø±¬ÍøÕ¾ Music Department. Through partnerships with Curtis Community Concerts, , S, , , , , and other outside organizations, we strive to bridge the gap between music on and off campus and develop more collaborative relationships with our off-campus community. With this initiative, we hope to provide our students with opportunities to engage in the music world off-campus. We would like to credit The Opportunity Fund for providing us with the resources to jumpstart this effort.

It has been our pleasure to work with and support these professionals:

Founded in 1995, the St. Cecilia Chamber Choir brings together some of the finest choral talent in Mid-Coast Maine. Specializing in Renaissance and English choral traditions, they also perform contemporary pieces, often by Maine-based composers. Under the direction of Linda Blanchard and with accompanist Sean Fleming, the choir offers outstanding performances and provides opportunities for local youth, community outreach, and the commissioning of new music.

Housed in the Olin Arts Center, the Bates College Music Department offers a well-rounded mix of performance, composition, and musicology. Students explore everything from Western classical and jazz to world music and popular genres. The department regularly hosts public concerts and performances that bring together students and local musicians, providing the community with a chance to enjoy and engage with the music scene at Bates.

Mary Sullivan from

The Amethyst Chamber Ensemble, founded by Mary Sullivan, Joelle Morris, and Scott Nicolas, is a professional vocal and instrumental group based in Midcoast Maine. The ensemble is all about making art song more accessible, offering performances that break away from traditional recitals. With a focus on community, they also host workshops and vocal coaching sessions, helping to foster a deeper appreciation of live music and the arts.
