Fernando Nascimento

Assistant Professor of Digital and Computational Studies, on leave for the 2024–2025 academic year

Fernando Nascimento is a scholar of Digital and Computational Studies, researching the intersections of digital technologies and Ethics. His current research focuses primarily on how systems based on artificial intelligence and the Internet of Things can be designed, developed, and applied to measure and alleviate human deprivations, using the Capabilities Approach as a theoretical framework. He also directs the Digital Ricoeur project, which applies digital text analysis to support worldwide academic research on the works of the French philosopher Paul Ricoeur.
