First Year Job Placement Program - We are no longer accepting applications.
- The First Year Job Placement Program (FYJPP) is designed to help incoming first year students secure a campus job before the start of the semester. The benefit of participating in the program is that you avoid the hassle of searching job listings, filling out multiple applications, interviewing for positions, or competing with upper-class students. However, this program is not the right fit for everyone. If you are interested in a specific job and/or are strongly opposed to working in Dining Services, this program is not for you.
- The FYJPP serves all first-year students, regardless of financial aid status. If we receive more applications than jobs available, we will prioritize aided students first.
- You must commit to work a minimum of five (5) hours per week in your assigned job for the fall semester. For the class of 2028, we have jobs available in Dining Services, H-L Library, Hatch Science Library, Information Technology, and Athletics. Review the job details before you apply. You will have the opportunity to rank your preferences and provide your work experience in the application; however, you will not be guaranteed your top choice, you may be placed in a job listed as your last choice. Approximately 90% of students who participate are placed in Dining Services. If you are not comfortable working in Dining Services, please do not apply to be part of the FYJPP.
- Applications will be accepted through Wednesday, July 17, 2024. You will be notified via email if you have been accepted into the program before the end of July; placement information will be sent via email in mid-August.
- For more information, please review the FYJPP FAQ's.

- You will have the opportunity to meet upper-class students, staff and faculty. Ask classmates if they work on campus and, if so, where? What do they like about their job(s)? What is one thing they learned about student employment that has been super helpful? If you are speaking with staff or faculty, you can ask if they hire students to work in their department, if so, what types of jobs are usually available?
