Darkroom
The Edwards Center Darkoom has a variety of state-of-the-art equipment necessary for most photography needs.
The introductory classes in our program emphasize 35mm black-and-white film-based photography. As part of the intermediate level of the curriculum we offer classes in digital color and large-format photography and our advanced offerings encourage sustained self-directed study. The photography facilities include a 2,200-square-foot 18-enlarger gang darkroom and “white” room for print washing and drying, three negative developing rooms equipped for 35mm and large format development, a print finishing room, and a critique space. Our digital media lab, also measuring 2,200 square feet, has state-of-the-art digital image processing capacity. All photography students have 24-hour key card access to the facilities.
