The Environmental Studies Program has compiled some information that we hope is a brief introduction to the Program, including our core faculty, examples student course/ research outings, ES Fellowships, alumni, and a selection of short syllabi of ES courses open to first years. A brief introduction to Environmental Studies at ��ϳԹ��վ

Environmental Studies at ��ϳԹ��վ equips students with knowledge, skills, and perspectives to understand the causes and consequences of local and global environmental problems, with the goal of developing just, equitable solutions. Our curriculum emphasizes thinking across and beyond disciplines and embracing interdisciplinary inquiry in the humanities, arts, social sciences, and natural sciences.

Dreaming of the Sun
A ��ϳԹ��վ class recently met via Zoom with two guest speakers in Ecuador—one a recent graduate, the other a native of Achuar territory in the Amazon—who are helping to bring solar-powered boats and energy to remote communities in the rainforest.
Young People Gather on Campus for Climate Symposium
In early October, ��ϳԹ��վ hosted the first Maine Youth Climate Action Symposium for nearly 100 students from nearby high schools, giving them a day to network, learn, and get inspiration from one another and other young professionals working in Maine's climate field.
