ResLife Student Staff
The ResLife student staff is split between “Proctors” who live in first-year residence halls and College Houses and “Resident Assistants” or RA’s who live in upper-class student housing. Proctors serve as guides to their direct residents by connecting them with resources and facilitating their integration into ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø±¬ÍøÕ¾’s community. RA’s provide support for individual students and help build community in the upper-class residence halls. Each RA is paired with a proctor, and they work as a team to support a cohort of 8-16 first-year residents.
The student staff is selected annually through a competitive application process and undergoes extensive facilitation and resource training throughout the academic year. The ResLife student staff represents many facets of the ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø±¬ÍøÕ¾ student experience (musicians, athletes, multicultural club leaders, community service leaders, writers, editors, activists, etc.), who engage in dialogue about our campus culture and their responsibilities in shaping it. ResLife staff design and implement programs throughout the year that bring students together over ideas, food, activities, and conversations. These programs and connections enable the ResLife staff to provide thoughtful, responsive support to individuals while proactively building an inclusive learning community for all students.
