On Tuesday, August 1, 2023, ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø±¬ÍøÕ¾ Student Government is excited to launch a new partnership with Headspace. You’ll have free access to the entire Headspace library.
Mindfulness has been shown to help people stress less, increase focus, and sleep more soundly. Meditation helps you to be more mindful—and Headspace is your personal guide, with hundreds of meditations and exercises for sleep, focus, and movement.

Koru Mindfulness Course
Koru Mindfullness Course is a four-week introduction to the practice of Mindfulness. Mindfulness is about developing the ability to be fully attentive to all of the moments of your life, reducing the amount of time you spend worrying about the future or fretting about the past. You will learn several tools, including meditation, breathing exercises, guided imagery, the body scan and more. Each of these practices are designed to deepen self-reflection, help you manage stress and enrich your life. Attendance at all four weeks is required.

Koru 2.0 Course
An “advanced” class for students who have completed Koru Basic and are eager for more mindfulness. This course also consists of a weekly, 75-minute classes taught over four weeks. Koru 2.0 builds on the skills developed in Koru Basic while offering participants a supportive environment to learn, grow, and deepen their meditation practice. New practices will include focus on self-compassion and a 75-minute guided silent ‘retreat’ in the third class. The accompanying text (optional but encouraged) for this course is Real Happiness: the Power of Meditation by Sharon Salzburg. Attendance for all four weeks is required.

Koru Half-Day Retreat
An opportunity to take your practice a bit deeper with a half-day silent retreat. Sink into the richness of Presence. It is through skillful rest and respite that we cultivate inner resilience. Open to all students who have completed Koru Basics Course. Registration in Campus Groups.
Community Koru Sessions
50-minute mini mindfulness workshops for any group or office on campus. This session will help build community as we explore how to integrate a mindful, reflective awareness in our work at ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø±¬ÍøÕ¾ as well as our personal well-being. These are one-time events hosted by Koru Mindfulness teachers, Kate Nicholson or Shelley Roseboro that can be flexible to meet your groups' needs. Email Kate or Shelley with your group details, approximate number of people interested, and a few dates/times that work for your group.
