Monthly meetings often focus on students' academic progress and needs. Counselors provide the following during school visits:
- Goal Setting
- Monitor academic performance and attendance
- Advise students on course selection that will be challenging and provide solid preparation for college
- Build study skills, organization, and time management to support students' academic achievement
- Set up tutoring when students need extra support with material, etc.
School visits are also a time to catch up on other aspects of the student's life, including extracurricular activities, job, family life, etc. Counselors really care about the whole student and know that students have a lot on their minds that can impact academic life.
