What to Submit
A complete application should include the items noted below. Please use this linked Application Template to complete items 1-4 in the section below.
- Title of project, name of applicant, and fund to which you are applying (Course Development Fund or Zander Fund).
- A short abstract of the project (less than 100 words).
- Proposal Narrative: A brief description (no more than two pages single-spaced) of the course(s) to be enriched or developed and the process by which this will be accomplished, the place of these courses in the existing curriculum, and when they will be offered. Please address:
- The ideas, problems, or needs of this course
- Anticipated outcomes in relation to student learning
- Specific steps to be taken
- Significance of the proposal and contribution to the existing curriculum
- Relationship of the project to my ongoing development as an educator
- A statement that includes the dates and amounts of any previous course development awards and the results obtained.
- Budget and Rationale. Please follow the guidance in the application template.
- An endorsement of the application by the department chair/program director. In the endorsement, the chair should address briefly the value of the proposed project to the faculty member's course(s) and to the curricular offerings of the department.
How to Submit
- Fill out all sections of the Application Template Word document
- Include endorsement from your chair/director (see #5 in “What to Submit”, above)
- Export your Applicate Template Word document and chair endorsement to a single PDF document. (For assistance in creating PDF documents, please contact the IT Help Desk)
- Submit your application electronically on or before the deadline to Committee on Teaching and Classroom Practice.
Following your submission, electronic applications will be distributed to the members of the Committee on Teaching and Classroom Practice for review. Please note that incomplete or late applications will not be considered.
