Office of the Registrar: Practical Information for New Faculty

The Office of the Registrar is responsible for maintaining the integrity of the ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø±¬ÍøÕ¾ degree.

We do this by equitably managing curricular offerings, facilitating course registration, disseminating information related to academic policies and processes, collecting grades, and issuing official certifications of students’ progress towards and obtainment of the degree of Bachelor of Arts.

Office of the Registrar, Staff

The best way to reach us is by emailing registrar@bowdoin.edu. A member of our team monitors that inbox Monday-Friday from 8:30am-5:00pm, and will direct your inquiry to the appropriate staff member to answer. We are also available by phone at 207-725-3521 or in-person at 240 Maine St (building 85 on the campus map).

If you intend to propose a new course or revise an existing course you should work closely with your chair/director when considering curricular changes. For more information about the process, please visit the website of the Curriculum Implementation Committee (CIC), /registrar/faculty/teaching/index.html, and reach out to courses@bowdoin.edu with any questions.

Please note that the College is switching to a new student information system, and registration practices and policies will be adjusted this year. We will keep the campus informed; please pay close attention to our communications and don’t hesitate to call with questions.
