Flagstaff Bigelow Canoe and Backpack
Enjoy a classic combo trip in the Flagstaff/Bigelow region near the Carrabassett Valley.
One group will canoe across Flagstaff Lake, camping on beachy shorelines and islands, and hike to the summit of Avery Peak, one of the tallest peaks in the Bigelow Range. The trail up Avery Peak is a steep two miles, but the views of Flagstaff Lake are well worth it.
The other group will backpack across the Bigelow Range, one of the most scenic mountain ranges in Maine, before descending to Flagstaff Lake to enjoy a day of canoeing.
